Saturday Night SYN Rules

Here are the rules changes for Saturday Night SYN.

  1. General Changes
    1. Games will be 12 questions in length (split over 2 rounds) plus a bonus speed round for the winner.
    2. Players will start off with 500 Awful Pennies (APs).
  2. Question Flow
    1. Part 1
      1. The questioned player will be given the general category of the upcoming question.
      2. That player will have to bet 100 (min.), 200 or 300 (max.) APs that they can answer correctly.
      3. The question is asked and the player gives their answer.
      4. The player challenges either of the other players to agree or disagree with them.
    2. Part 2
      1. The challenged player will agree or disagree with the answer given by the questioned player.
      2. The correct answer is revealed and APs are awarded.
      3. The process repeats from 2.a.i. for 12 questions, breaking halfway for a bit of "getting to know the contestants".
  3. Scoring
    1. Question is answered correctly and agreed to correctly.
      1. The questioned player gets the number of APs they bet.
      2. The challenged player gets 300 minus the number of APs the questioned player won.
      3. Example - If the questioned player bet and won 200 APs, the challenged player wins 300 – 200 = 100 APs.
    2. Question is answered correctly and disagreed to.
      1. The questioned player gets what they bet, plus 100 for the bluff.
      2. Example - If the questioned player bet and won 200 APs, they would win 300.
    3. Question is answered incorrectly and disagreed to correctly.
      1. The questioned player loses the amount of the bet.
      2. The challenged player gets 300 minus what was bet, plus 100 for calling the bluff.
      3. Example - If the questioned player bet and won 200 APs, the challenged player would win 300 - 200 + 100 = 200 APs.
    4. Question is answered incorrectly and agreed to incorrectly.
      1. The questioned player loses the amount of the bet.
      2. The third player wins 200 APs
  4. End of the Game/Bonus Speed Round
    1. The two players with the fewest APs will get either that equal amount in Awful Pennies or 250 Awful Pennies (whichever is greater)
    2. The player with the most APs at the end of the game will get to play the bonus speed round, aptly named "The Bonus Speed Round"!
    3. Players will be read a series of up to 15 statements for 60 seconds. They will have to guess which of two possible answers (given before the round starts) each statement applies to.
      1. Example: The 2 possible answers are "Dr. Phil" and "Dr. Seuss". One of the statements could be "Wrote the book 'Green Eggs and Ham'". (To verify, the correct answer is Dr. Seuss.)
    4. If the player gets 5 correct, they will double their APs.
    5. If the player gets 8 correct, they will triple their APs!
